Five small promises about living together. They bind no one and cost nothing. They are a way for people who share a roof, a street or a planet to find each other.
To everyone who lives under a roof with other people.
We share one atmosphere and many staircases. We do not have to agree about everything to live well together; we have to talk, tell the truth and care for what is shared.
We, the people who sign below, promise to try, in our own houses, courtyards and cities:
- To greet the people I live next to.
- To listen to the end before I decide.
- To share what I can, and to ask when I need.
- To tell the truth about money and decisions in my house.
- To think of those who will live here after me.
This letter asks for no money and no personal contacts. Sign with a nickname; the place is optional.
